Magazine Submission Guidelines
Please note: The Ledge will not be accepting regular submissions until October 1, 2010. We will continue to read those submissions received during our last annual reading period and will be responding to them as time permits.
This decision applies to regular submissions ONLY. Submissions to any of our annual poetry and fiction competitions are not affected. |
We welcome regular submissions of 3-5 poems, or one story up to 7,500 words, with SASE, during our annual reading period of October 1 through April 30. (Please do not submit work outside our reading period; it will be returned unread.) We are open to all styles and schools of writing. Excellence is our only criterion. Please submit your best work. Response time to regular submissions is 6-8 months (we are backlogged at present, but expect to catch up soon).
We accept simultaneous submissions, but not previously published work. (Please note: We do not accept e-mail submissions.) We encourage you to read The Ledge before submitting to the magazine. A copy of our current issue can be purchased on this web site for $10 (postpaid) or by sending a check or money order payable to The Ledge to the below address. All contributors receive a copy of the issue in which their work appears and an opportunity to order additional copies at a discounted rate. We also send typeset galleys of all work for proofreading before going to press. The Ledge Poetry & Fiction Magazine is published annually. Please address all submissions to:
